I have given up on our media ever actually researching anything.
William Chirolas -- World News Trust
March 27, 2007 -- The
overriding media/GOP narrative/theme for Rudy Giuliani is: "America's
Mayor," that for McCain is: "Straight Talk Express," in contrast to the
narrative/theme for Democratic party candidates like John Edwards:
"feminine/faggot/sleezy trial lawyer," or Hillary:
castrating/shrill/phony, or Obama: Muslim/Hussein/Madrassa/untested.
This media bias extends
to media "watchdog" sources that our media uses -- avoiding the
truth-telling site "Media Matters," which is well documented with
internet links, while they use proven liars like Brent Bozell's
misleading "Media Research Center"/"Newsbusters".
CNN and Fox have both
used Bozell's lies extensively, and the networks on occasion, I have
given up on our media ever actually researching anything and noting
that the GOP talking point of the day is a lie -- as in how hard would it have been to find this?:

WHITE HOUSE AND JUSTICE DEPARTMENT BEGIN U.S. ATTORNEY TRANSITION
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Continuing the practice of new administrations,
President Bush and the Department of Justice have begun the transition
process for most of the 93 United States Attorneys.
But we heard MSNBC/CNN/Fox all saying the GOP Talking point that Clinton did it. We even had the lying Wall Street Journal Editorial page
screaming that Clinton replaced all those 93 attorneys to thwart an
investigation of Democratic congressman Dan Rostenkowski, forgetting
that the next DA obtained 17 counts from the Grand Jury and convicted
Rostenkowski with a guilty plea on two counts of mail fraud.
The Wall Street Journal even forgets
that the special prosecutor cleared Clinton regarding Whitewater, and
all other alleged scandals, and attempts to imply that the replacement
of the 93 U.S. attorneys was the reason that the local District
Attorney, Paula Casey, appointed at the start of the Clinton
presidency, never did bring any "big Whitewater indictments."
The Wall Street Journal mis-characterized history as:
"Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter retaining holdovers and only replacing
them gradually as their tenures expired." Does anyone in the media ever
fact check the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal? -- might be
an interesting story there.
This time round the
GOP-selling lies machine used Brent Bozell's misleading "Media Research
Center," the source that Brit Hume uses so often to lie on Fox Cable
News, and which he used in this case, and its controlled "Newsbusters"
source, to sell for weeks (and Fox continues to try to sell) the idea
that Clinton's 93 beginning of term replacement of District Attorneys
-- the normal replacement that is expected -- is a justification to
ignore Bush's obstruction of justice reasoning behind the seven DA
replacements.
An excellent article on this is "The Difference Between Eight and 93," which I recommend as mandatory reading for those in the media.
